Project overview

The North Gate Relocation and Access Optimization project will build 4,000 feet of elevated roadway, relocate the North Gate, install a new gate system, upgrade railroad crossings, and construct facilities for security and cargo control, including truck queuing, EV charging, and solar panels. It also includes a Terminal Resiliency and Emissions Reduction Plan. This project received $10,950,805 in PIDP 2023, and NC Ports will provide the remaining funds for the $28,472,092 project.
