Our leadership
Allyson is a driving force for change in climate and energy policy, with more than 10 years of experience across the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Prior to co-founding HACC, Allyson served as Pacific Environment’s Climate Campaign Director, leading their Ports for People campaign to end port and ship pollution in partnership with frontline community-based organizations. Allyson previously served as the Director of Regulatory Affairs for SRECTrade, where she collaborated with industry and grassroots organizations on renewable energy policies; as Chief of Staff to Jared Blumenfeld for California Governor Newsom’s 2018 gubernatorial campaign, Energy & Environment team; and as a consultant on energy in cities, cannabis, and cryptocurrency. Allyson holds a Juris Doctor, Environmental Law from Golden Gate University School of Law and a B.S., Business Administration from University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.
Sandy served as Commissioner for the Port of San Diego in California from January 2021 to May 2024, representing her hometown of National City on the Board of Port Commissioners. She is a mother, environmental justice activist, community organizer, labor advocate and political economist residing in National City with her two children. Prior to her appointment as Port Commissioner, Sandy worked for a national climate justice organization, Mothers Out Front, where she organized thousands of mothers, grandmothers, and others to advocate for a swift, complete, and just transition to clean, renewable energy. She has served on multiple community advisory boards, both regional and statewide. She was elected as the first chair of the Sweetwater Authority Citizens Advisory Committee; appointed a member of the AB 617 steering committee to advise the San Diego Air Pollution Control District on the best ways to mitigate exposure to toxic air pollution; and, served as a member for the California Energy Commission’s Advisory Committee for the Clean Transportation Program Investment Plan. Sandy has three bachelors’ degrees with honors in political science, political economy, and economics, along with a minor in women’s studies from California State University, San Bernardino.
Board of directors
Tracy started her career in analytics, working on conservation at a zoo, commodity trading for a farm, and consulting for large corporations and investment firms. She then transitioned to startups, helping refine Eaze's business model within a highly regulated and emerging market. At The Production Board (TPB), a venture foundry in the life sciences and food/ag space, Tracy supported the growth of early-stage companies. She is dedicated to accelerating decarbonization through technology innovation and market-driven solutions. Tracy holds a bachelor's degree from UC Davis in Environmental Policy and Economics.
With a decade of experience in criminal justice and reentry reform, Megan brings an extensive knowledge in augmenting equitable outcomes for system-impacted communities. She has sat in a variety of leadership roles where she has collaborated with employers, researchers, policymakers and justice-involved individuals to design evidence-based solutions that improve fairness in the workforce and beyond. Megan is thrilled to join HACC's Board and utilize her experience in social justice to support the organization's vision and advocate for those who are disparately impacted by climate change.
Ellie is a Senior Civil Engineer and project manager with Arup in Los Angeles. Ellie has a wide-ranging experience working in both the design and construction of large infrastructure projects in Australia and Los Angeles. Ellie has worked in many sectors including ports, aviation, highways, rail, and energy, and was the Senior Manager of the LA-Shanghai Green Shipping Corridor project on behalf of C40 in 2023. She is particularly passionate about advocating for sustainable outcomes on large, public projects, with a focus on climate resilience and social equity. Ellie has just celebrated her two-year milestone of living and working in Los Angeles, and looks forward to continuing to explore the city and contributing to its projects.
Our team
Titli Thind is a UC Berkeley graduate student from Goa, India. She studies Development Engineering, with a concentration in Sustainable Environmental Planning. Prior to graduate school, Titli was a commercial airline pilot and permaculture designer. She went on to study Environmental Law and Policy and complete a Masters in Sustainable Air Transport Management, where she integrated permaculture design to sustainably masterplan airports. She believes in the power of holistic policy making, advocacy, and collective action to build just cities and resilient communities. HACC is proud to host Titli for the 2024 Climate Action Fellowship program.
