Project overview

The Port of Los Angeles Multimodal Freight Network Improvement Program: Fenix Container Terminal Intermodal Railyard Expansion and Modernization Project will add 11,500 feet of track, boosting rail capacity by 10%. The project also includes utility corridors and drainage systems to reduce storm damage, enhancing the terminal’s efficiency and resilience. This project received $18,184,743 in PIDP 2019 and $19 million from California’s Trade Corridor Enhancement Program. The Port of Los Angeles will provide the balance of the funding.
