Project overview

The Port of Palacios Energy & Resilience Improvement Project will rehabilitate bulkheads and berthing areas in Turning Basins 1 and 2, repairing 5,600 feet of bulkhead and installing 20 vessel-to-shore power stations to improve resilience against natural disasters and sea level rise. This project received $9,600,000 in PIDP 2022.

The Lake Erie Renewable Energy Resilience Project funds four components: 1) Riverfront improvements, including a new wharf for wind energy cargo and shoreline stabilization; 2) Turning Basin upgrades, with dock cap rehab and sheet pile replacement; 3) Small Boat Slip renovation for harbor vessels; 4) Shore Power installation, replacing overhead lines.
