Taura Herenga Waka (the Maori Outcomes Framework) provides strategic direction for how the Port engages with Iwi Māori and how the Ports can meaningfully incorporate Te Ao Māori into our everyday work life. This Framework recognizes the Ports' commitment to developing a more meaningful engagement with Iwi and Māori that reflects the importance of Te Tiriti to the Ports.

The NSW Ports community committees and liaison groups discuss port and intermodal operations and developments, share information on environmental improvement initiatives and discuss construction activities.

The main goal of Taipei Port's "good neighborhood program" is to mitigate negative environmental and community impacts from port expansion while fostering positive relations with local communities. The program implements measures such as environmental protections, public engagement, safety drills, and transportation improvements. Additionally, 18% of the port’s surplus is shared with local governments for social and environmental projects, enhancing cooperation and sustainability.

Livorno Port Center, opened in 2015, is an educational-exhibition hub designed to connect the port and the local community. It offers interactive experiences, school visits, work experience programs, and university internships. Located in Livorno's Old Fortress, the center promotes international collaboration and raises public awareness of port activities and logistics.
